Owen stood by the abandoned carousel, gleaming bright and running merrily, with what seemed like an alien beside it, and thought of his job and his cubicle. He was probably late for work now, for his gray laptop on his gray desk, for a meeting in a windowless room. He couldn’t have cared less.

Owen walked toward the blue man, holding his hands out, empty except for the carousel token. “My name is Owen,” he said. “Can you understand me?”

Mythic is an original M/M serial romance. A queen’s bodyguard falls in love with a handsome royal attendant, and must protect them both from an attack by creatures who aren’t supposed to exist.

Nathan takes great pride in being bodyguard to Queen Suzanne. But his training didn’t prepare him for falling in love with a man he can’t have, or facing an enemy everyone thought was a myth. It seems ridiculous: men with wings, killing for their magic. But someone is targeting the royal family, and it’s up to Nathan to figure out who and why. He finds his ally in Eric, the queen’s personal attendant, and subject of all Nathan’s heartbroken pining. There is no way for a bodyguard to have a romance with a servant, even if Eric returned Nathan’s feelings, which seems unlikely. But as things get stranger and stranger, Nathan must decide where his true loyalties lie, and what it will cost to protect the people he loves. Rated E

When Eric woke, Nathan was sitting on the bed beside him. Someone had changed the sheets for clean ones. Eric’s hair was dark and messy and tangled, and Nathan ran his right hand through it to settle it. Outside the window, the sun was setting.

“You idiot,” Nathan said.

Eric blinked blearily at him. “Sir? Oh, Nathan.” He moved to sit up, and realized his left arm was clear. His gaze snapped back to Nathan. “What did you do?”

“What did I do? You could have died.”

Scott’s been best friends with Griffin since they were kids. He’s been in love with Griffin since they were teenagers. Things definitely would have been easier if Scott had fallen in love with somebody who wasn’t an enormous, half-human, shapeshifting monster, but compared to Griffin, everyone else is just so ordinary. Scott and Griffin have grown apart since they started attending different colleges, but this spring break, they’re on a quest to track down Griffin’s mysterious shapeshifting kin, based on a clue Scott found in an old book. Which means Scott needs to decide if he should risk confessing his love (and crucially, his attraction to Griffin in all his forms) or if he should keep quiet so he doesn’t hold Griffin back from what might be his best life— even if that best life is without Scott. Also this quest is probably going to require breaking the law a little bit. This is going to be one hell of a spring break.
