 A modern AU of The Terror, by Dannye Chase

Francis Crozier, third in command of a company searching for a 175-year-old lost Arctic ship, must battle his reckless superiors while concealing the fact that he’s fallen in love with his assistant, Thomas Jopson. ~Rated E~

Please note: since this is an AU, you don’t have to have seen The Terror to follow it! Just think of it as an original romance with an odd number of references to the Northwest Passage. XD

Thomas was always there in Francis’s spaces, and what drew Francis in wasn’t just that Thomas was organized and could always pull up whatever reports or resources that Francis needed to see. It was that Thomas was brilliant, and wickedly funny if he ever spoke his mind. Thomas was kind, and gentle, and reassuring in a way that no one ever really had been to Francis. It was clear that Thomas cared about him.

But whether it was the same sort of romantic feelings that Francis had developed for him— that Francis didn’t know. There was no way to know. Because Thomas didn’t need advances from a boss ten years older than himself. No, if Francis loved him— if Francis was any kind of decent man at all— then Thomas deserved his protection from everything, including Francis himself.

New upcoming anthology!

 

Y'all I am very excited to say that I have a piece in the upcoming anthology “Clamour and Mischief” from Clan Destine Press!

Clamour & Mischief is about the corvidae family of birds (ravens & crows) and my story is a retelling of the tale “The 7 Ravens.” It got downsized to only 3 ravens, but it did keep its creepy nature. <3
