My next original serial romance: Dearly Beloved

King Matthias doesn’t really want to be king, and he definitely doesn’t want to have to marry some other head of state who only pretends to like him for the chance at becoming royal spouse. But the needs of the kingdom come first, so Matthias reluctantly agrees to entertain nine suitors at the palace for a week of matchmaking. Matthias is stunned to find himself falling in love at first sight with one of them: a beautiful, kind-hearted young earl named Brian who doesn’t care much for the trappings of royalty. There’s just a couple of problems: Matthias’s advisors feel that any other suitor would be better, and those other suitors are very jealous of Brian. In fact, somebody dislikes Brian enough to mount steadily more dangerous attempts at sabotaging his chances. But Matthias is willing to risk everything to protect the man he loves, even though he’s sure that Brian doesn’t love him in return.

This is a story a lot like Tollense: a steamy, tropey, slow-burning pine forest of a fic where the plot is the romance. So if you liked Tollense, pull up a chair, I’m going to try to hit that sweet spot again (pun very much intended). Thank you to all who have been reading the serials, I so appreciate it!
